The spot Ethereum ETFs will be listed for trading on July 23, as confirmed by the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) on Friday through announcements posted on the exchange’s website.
CBOE stated that the following spot Ethereum ETFs will commence trading on Tuesday: 21Shares Core Ethereum ETF (CETH), Fidelity Ethereum Fund (FETH), Franklin Ethereum ETF (EZET), Invesco Galaxy Ethereum ETF (QETH), and VanEck Ethereum ETF (ETHV).
“We are pleased to announce that one (1) Exchange-Traded Product (‘ETP’) will be listed on Cboe and will commence trading as a new issue on July 23, 2024, subject to regulatory effectiveness.”
The Ethereum ETFs received initial approval from the SEC in May in a surprising move, as the commission had closely scrutinized companies focused on Ethereum and appeared to treat the asset differently from Bitcoin. However, just four months after spot Bitcoin ETFs began trading in the U.S., the SEC reversed its stance.
Currently, it appears that CBOE is confident that the ETF issuers will receive final approval before trading begins on Tuesday.
