Each pair of shoes is individually numbered, and five lucky buyers will receive a pair signed by Trump. In addition to crypto-themed footwear, Trump is also selling various other Trump-themed items, such as perfumes, the “Freedom” refrigerator—listed at $299—and several other shoes decorated with Trump-related catchphrases and American flag stickers.
All shoes are expected to be delivered between September and November 2024.
Trump encourages purchasing these shoes with Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies, tying this to his broad support for the crypto movement in the current election cycle.
At the conference, Trump made several grand promises about the future of U.S. crypto policy. He mentioned the creation of a “strategic Bitcoin reserve” and preventing the sale of government-held Bitcoin if he is re-elected.
As reported by Bitcoin Magazine, Trump raised $21 million at the event. The conference featured a high-profile fundraising event, with ticket prices up to $844,600.
Trump aims to make America the “crypto capital of the world” and a “Bitcoin superpower.” He also stated that under his leadership, there would be no Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC), emphasizing the importance of individuals having control over their finances.
Trump also announced the formation of the Presidential Crypto Advisory Council, inviting conference delegates to join.
He stressed that future Bitcoin mining and production should occur in the U.S., aiming to create domestic jobs and keep the industry within American borders.
In a critique of the current administration, Trump blamed the regulatory environment for driving Bitcoin jobs and businesses out of the country. He promised to protect these jobs and make America a hub for crypto innovation.
He vowed to be a “pro-innovation and pro-Bitcoin president.” Trump even touched on the controversial subject of Ross Ulbricht, founder of Silk Road, reiterating his commitment to pardoning Ulbricht.
Throughout his speech, Trump linked the future of Bitcoin to economic prosperity, viewing it as a crucial component of a thriving U.S. economy.
